Leo M. Kosobucki, age 88, of Harborcreek, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at St. Mary's Home, East, from complications of Covid-19. He was born in Erie on March 15, 1932, son of the late Leo and Mary Kosobucki.
Leo is survived by his "Angel on Earth" (just kidding), Patricia Walsh Kosobucki. He and Pat have been married 55 years. He is also survived by four children, Michael Kosobucki (Ana Swedberg), Karen Kosobucki (Joe Lopez), Mary Montano (Tony), and David Kosobucki (Trinh); three grandchildren, Hayley Montano, Casey and Caleb Kosobucki; his in-laws, Richard and Patricia Walsh; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edmund, Robert and Donald.
Benjamin L. DeDionisio, age 88, of Harborcreek, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Erie on December 7, 1931, son of the late Benjamin and Jenny DeDionisio.
Benjamin was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He was employed as a welder at Weil-McLain for many years. Following that, he finished his career working for the Harbor Creek School District. Benjamin was an active member of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, where he volunteered with the Ella Cochran Food Pantry. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing and especially the time spent with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the East Erie Moose Club and YMCA Silver Sneaker Club.
Catherine "Cathy" Elizabeth McCann Altieri, age 95, of Erie, passed away at her home on Friday, November 20, 2020. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 18, 1924, daughter of the late Charles J. and Katherine E. Krieger McCann.
Cathy graduated from St. Augustine Parochial School and Girls Commercial High School both in Brooklyn, NY. After graduation, she worked as a secretary for City Bank Farmers Trust Company in the Manhattan Financial District. Cathy also worked for the South Hills Area YMCA of Pittsburgh for 23 years before retiring to Erie.
Helen L. Black, age 93, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Elmwood Gardens.
She was born in Canadohta Lake, on January 29, 1927, daughter of the late George and Anna (Fojtik) Polach. She was a 1949 graduate of the South Side Hospital School of Nursing. Helen was a Registered Nurse who worked at Union City Hospital, St. Vincent Hospital, and Erie Osteopathic Hospital (Millcreek Hospital). She served as a Pennsylvania State Inspector of Nursing Homes, psychiatric and mental disability facilities.
She was a member of the Our Lady of Mercy Church in Harborcreek.
Blair Edward Crosby, age 93, of Harborcreek, went home to be with his Lord Tuesday, November 17, 2020. He was born in Indian Head, PA on September 20, 1927, son of the late Roy and Olive Crosby.
Blair attended Academy High School and was a WWII veteran. He was employed as an electrician at Interlake Iron for 20 years and then at Autoclave Engineers, retiring in 1988 after 20 years of service at Autoclave.
Blair was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church. He volunteered at the Ella Cochran Food Pantry for 20 years, Habitat for Humanity, Friendship Ministries, and St. Mary's Home of Erie.
Gregory Thomas Sanner, age 68, of Harborcreek Twp., passed away peacefully at his home, on Monday, November 16, 2020. He was born in Erie on June 29, 1952 to the late Harry F. and Marion E. Jenkins Sanner.
Gregory served as a Boy Scout Leader and loved the outdoors; he played the piano and enjoyed woodworking. He retired from Verizon after many years of employment. Most of all, he was a family man. Having just celebrated his 48th Wedding Anniversary with his loving wife, Linda, Gregory cherished and was proud of the family they created.
Irene H. Edwards, age 93, of Harborcreek, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020. She was born in Erie on December 17, 1926, daughter of the late John and Julia Olesky.
Irene was a graduate of Harbor Creek High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Slippery Rock and her Master's Degree from Case Western Reserve. She was a physical education instructor for the Harbor Creek School District and at Penn State Behrend. Irene was a senior advocate at Harborcreek Township since 2001. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church and was active in AARP.
Antoinette Miller, age 70, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at UPMC Hamot Hospital. She was born in Erie, August 17, 1950 to the late Dominick and Mary DeBello Marcolini.
Antoinette attended Strong Vincent High School, She later went on to start her own hair care business, Anette’s Hair Care. She was a devout Catholic, who loved shopping, and had the most infectious laugh. In addition to her parents, Antoinette is preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Miller.
MARY ANN FETCHIK, (nee Curtis), age 74, born December 5, 1945 and entered Eternal Life on September 24, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Andrew R. “Drew”; loving mother of Andrew R. III (Julie) and Rebecca Whitney (Dennis); cherished grandmother of Aidan, Drew, Heath, Aubrey, and Riley; dear aunt, cousin, and friend of many.
Mary Ann began her career at Marymount Hospital in the emergency room as a secretary and was a devoted employee and loved by all for her pleasant and upbeat personality. She had a love of life and brought joy to everyone who met her.
Daniel J. Sweeney, age 81, of Erie, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital, following a short illness. He was born in Erie on February 9, 1939, son of the late Daniel and Elizabeth (Coake) Sweeney.
Dan attended Cathedral Preparatory School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1956 and served aboard the USS Boston as a salvage and repair diver.
Dr. John Kiernan Eckendorf, D.C., age 94, formerly of Jackson Avenue, Erie, PA, died on September 4, 2020.
John was born on December 10, 1925 in Warren, PA, a son of the late Karl and Helen Kiernan Eckendorf.
Dr. Eckendorf was raised in Meadville, graduated from Meadville High School and was an Eagle Scout.
On Wednesday, September 2, 2020, Donald McCurdy, loving husband and father of three, passed away at the age of 78.
Don attended St. Patrick grade school and Erie Cathedral Prep and graduated from Gannon University where he earned a commission as an Army Lieutenant. After completing airborne school, he served in Germany.
Doris L. Jacquel Myers, age 97, of Harborcreek Twp., passed away Thursday, August 20, 2020. She was born in Erie on June 18, 1923, daughter of the late John B. and Esther Wiser Jacquel.
Doris was employed by the General Electric Co. and was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church. She had a lifelong appreciation for the water of Lake Erie, enjoying fishing and spending time at the cottage with family.
Mary Angeline Bliley Shafer, age 96, of Harborcreek Twp., passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Ball Pavilion with her family by her side. Mary was born on September 7, 1923, the daughter of the late Andrew and Tillie Bliley.
Mary was raised on a dairy farm along with her three brothers and four sisters. She attended Barney School through the 8th grade. She then attended and graduated from Academy High School in 1941.
Joan Elizabeth (Wroczynski) Blass passed away at St. Vincent’s Hospital on Saturday, July 26, 2020 at the age of 80. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania on January 25, 1940 to Frank and Susan Wroczynski, she graduated from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing in 1961 and was a nurse until she retired in 2003.
Devoted wife to Charles J. Blass for 59 years, Joan was also the loving mother of two caring daughters and an estranged daughter, and a grandmother and great grandmother.
R. Scott Emling, Jr., age 73, of Harborcreek, passed away at his residence on Thursday, July 9, 2020, following an extended illness. He was born in Erie on January 5, 1947, son of the late Roy Scott, Sr. and Ruth Jane (DenUyl) Emling.
Scott was a graduate of Harbor Creek High School, Class of 1964. He furthered his education at Penn State, having earned an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1966.
Norman A. Schlosser, of Harborcreek, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 29, 1944, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late Norman and Maxine Newhard Schlosser.
Norman served in the Navy as a cryptologist. He was a life member of the USN Cryptologist Veterans Assn, Together We Served, Hull Numbers.com., Patriot Benefactor NRA, and Oath Keepers.

Theresa A. Malinowski, age 90, of Harborcreek, residing at Pleasant Ridge Manor, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2020. She was born on October 26, 1929, in Erie, daughter of the late Walter and Martha Markiewicz Michalak.
Theresa was a member of Our Lady of Mercy, R.C. Church. She was an avid grape farmer and loving mother. Theresa always made you laugh with her. She was known for her silly comments and gestures, and "she was always right."
Monsignor Daniel K. Arnold, 70, died Friday, March 20, 2020 at his residence in Erie. Monsignor Arnold was born on December 20, 1949 in Erie, Pennsylvania, the son of James and Dorothy (Gloekler) Arnold.
After attending Blessed Sacrament and then Our Lady of Peace elementary schools in Erie, he attended St. Mark Seminary High School in Erie and graduated from there in 1967. In 1971 he received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy with minors in education, languages and history from St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York.
